To introduce the concept of climate justice (defined as the disproportionate burden of climate change impacts upon poor and marginalised communities), and investigate legal, regulatory and judicial remedies, both international (including human rights instruments and global soft law) and domestic or local legal processes. Sustainable development aspects will be explored through the right to development, UN agenda for sustainable development, and the Habitat III New Urban Agenda. Environmental aspects will include local indigenous practices, rural and urban land issues, access to water and marine conservation. Methodology will include empirical legal research methods and critical socio-legal approaches.
