    Dear Colleagues,

As members of the Oñati community, we share a deep appreciation for the town and the International Institute for the Sociology of Law (IISL) situated within it. For many of us, Oñati is the starting point for our professional careers; it is here that we embarked on our journey toward becoming researchers in good standing in the diverse fields we now occupy.

Even though Oñati is renowned for its scholastic endeavors, it lacks a grounded unit for local investigations into issues concerning the town itself. With this fundamental realization regarding the absence of research projects in Oñati, we are now seeking to resolve this dilemma with the creation of a new scholar oriented research group. We hope participants will join us and strive to contribute their unique analytical perspective to support strong, critical and well-written investigative projects.

Therefore, we would like to announce the creation of the Oñati Research Forum (ORF), a fully scholar-run think tank based in Oñati, Spain, affiliated with the IISL.

From ORF’s inception, we hope that our projects will address a diverse range of issues. Our future projects should address issues such as feminism, humanitarianism, historical affairs and other transformative concerns.

Through scholar involvement in ORF, we hope members will gain practical research experience and help contribute to analyzing the myriad of interesting topics to be discovered in Oñati. In the following year, we hope to cultivate a strong membership to help implement our research goals and recommendations.
